You’re not alone- so don’t act like it

August 25, 2011

I believe biblical community solves so many of the world’s problems.  How’s that for a dramatic first sentence?  But the thing is – I really believe that.  I’ve seen captives set free from addictions and sin through relationships with believers.  I’ve seen people come to Christ led there by a Christian group of friends.  I’ve seen communities changed through groups of people passionate about a common cause.  I’ve seen people carried through extreme tragedy and lifelong friendships formed through LifeGroups and other forms of true Christian community.  I’ve seen these groups in all forms: more traditional”meet in homes” type of groups, online groups, sports groups, breakfast clubs (great movie btw), and more.  The bottom line is getting yourself in a seat at church on the weekend is not enough.  We NEED each other.  We need more than a great sermon or worship music, we need consistent, real relationship with fellow believers who will be there for us in every way.

If you’re not in regular community, you are missing out on the biggest yet smallest part of the church.

Great post and so, so true and well said! I love and cherish my community of Godly mommas! They provide community, fellowship, support, friendship and accountability!

  2. Amen, Brother Bruss! Biblical community to how we truly grow. We were created for relationships . . . with our Heavenly Father and with fellow believers!
